"Earth, Cloth, Hide: The Art of St. Labre Catholic Indian School" (2007)
A new exhibition, "Earth, Cloth, Hide: The Art of St. Labre Catholic Indian School," is on view in the Ryniker Morrison Gallery at Rocky Mountain College. The show will be up through Oct. 26.
The artists are students in the fifth through 12th grades. Themes that appear in the exhibit's artwork include Native American imagery and symbols of mostly the Northern Cheyenne and Crow tribes, and Christian-related symbols. Mediums used are ceramics, rawhide, paper, acrylic and tempera paints, pencil, fabric and charcoal.
