A two year starter for the Battlin’ Bears, Chase finished the season second on the team with 16.2 points per game and led Rocky in both 3-point field goals made (85) and free throw percentage (82%). At the conclusion of the national tournament, Chase was named to the All-Tournament team for his performance.

Chase Sukut, son of Joe and Sheri Sukut, is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship for Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bear Men’s Basketball team.

On Tuesday, March 24th the Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears won the 2009 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship. It was the first NAIA championship of its kind in the long, proud history of Rocky Mountain College athletics (Rocky’s men’s ski racing team won the 2005 and 2007 USCSA National Championship.)

Chase Sukut, a 6-1 senior from Billings, Montana, is a member of that team. Chase is a 2004 graduate of Billings West High School. James started all 36 games he appeared in this season and averaged 11.4 points and 4.2 rebounds along the way. He also led the Bears in 3-point field goal percentage (39%).
