Devin Uskoski, son of Ed and Kim Uskoski, is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championship for Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bear Men’s Basketball team.
On Tuesday, March 24th the Rocky Mountain College Battlin’ Bears won the 2009 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship. It was the first NAIA championship of its kind in the long, proud history of Rocky Mountain College athletics (Rocky’s men’s ski racing team won the 2005 and 2007 USCSA National Championship.)
Devin Uskoski, a 6-6 senior from Brush Prairie, Washington, is a member of that team. Devin finished his brilliant career in a Battlin’ Bear uniform as the MVP of the national tournament. His 24 point, 20 rebound performance in the championship game gave him his 5th double-double of the tournament and his NAIA leading 29th of the season. For the season, Devin led the Bears in scoring (17.5 points per game) and rebounding (11.7 rebounds per game.) He was also named to the NAIA 3rd Team All-American squad. For his career, Devin totaled 2047 points, 1304 rebounds and had 70 double-doubles; all are Rocky Mountain College career records.
